What is your policy regarding sick kids?
If your child/children is sick during the day, I will call you and isolate your child until you arrive to pick him/her up. If your child is sick to their stomach and vomits, you must pick your child up as soon as possible. Also, if your child has three or more loose bowel movements within an hour you must pick them up as soon as possible. For both situations, your child cannot return to my care until 24 hours after the symptoms have cleared.
No child in the contagious stages of a communicable disease may be accepted for care, unless all other children are not susceptible to the illness. If at my discretion your child is to sick to be in my care on any given day, I will not accept your child/ children. (This is to protect the health of all children in my care. If your child needs to be given medication, I will need the original bottle, dosage instructions, and a signed copy of my medication form.
Do you have a sick care option?
No, for the health of all children in my care, my family, and I.
What is your discipline policy?
We most often use redirection and positive reinforcement. In the event that immediate action needs to be taken a time out will be given. They will receive one minute in time out for every year old they are.
What types of meals and snacks do you serve?
We serve all healthy meals and snacks. We follow the Indiana Food Program. If your child/children have allergies to what is on the menu for any given day there will be a substitution made.
Do you charge extra if I'm late picking my child up?
Yes, if you are 10 minutes or later a fee of $1.00 a minute will be applied.
What is your overall child care philosophy?
I believe that children thrive best in a safe and loving environment. I also believe that children learn the most when they are having fun. I will encourage learning while they are playing and exploring. We have a daily schedule so that they know what is next and they feel they have more control. Children will learn much more if they feel they have a say in what is going on, and are having fun while they are doing it.
What are your security/safety policies?
We have a sign in and sign out sheet everyday. Only the children's parents are allowed to pick up their children unless I have a written note saying it is ok for another adult to pick them up. We meet all Indiana licensing inspection standards.
Can I observe/visit my child whenever I like?
I encourage parents to stop by and visit. You are more then welcome to come in and participate in our activities. The only time that drop-in's are discouraged are during nap time, from 12:30pm - 3:00pm.
